As of December 2023, the list of the most popular mobile apps for iPhones on the iOS app store is topped by Temu, an online marketplace owned and operated by Chinese ecommerce giant Pinduoduo. Even though the app was launched only recently in September 2022, it has shot to the top of the rankings, which experts attribute to its low prices.
Shop, ecommerce platform Shopify’s shopping assistant app, follows in second place. SHEIN, a fashion shopping app, ranks next. The number of people using SHEIN has skyrocketed in recent years. In 2017, there were just 2017 people using the app worldwide. By 2022, this number had surged to 65 million.

Capital One Shopping comes next in fourth place on the list of the best shopping apps on the iOS, while ecommerce giant Amazon’s shopping app makes up the top five. Incidentally, Amazon also ranks among the largest retailers in the United States.

Best shopping apps on Google Play
The list of the top shopping apps on the Android operating system looks slightly different. While the top few players are mostly the same, the most significant difference is their order.
Like the iOS list, Temu tops the list of best shopping apps on Google Play. This is followed by SHEIN, Walmart, and Shop.
